To All My Friends at RCA:

Hi - This is Ann Edman _ I have finally joined the internet and now I will be able to keep in touch with all of you.  I retired from the workforce 4 years ago, can't believe where the time has gone.  I think of my days at RCA often and wonder how everyone is doing.  I worked there for 20 years and it was the best 20 years of my working life.  My niece, Barbara Binger, has kept me informed of what has been going on.  I would love to hear from you.  My e-mail address is: ame314@verizon.net  I look forward to hearing from you.

Regards to all.

Ann

Juan Carmona    DrJuanACarmona@aol.com

Hello all:  I don't know if any of you remember me.  My name is Juan Carmona.  I worked with RCA from 1964 - 1967 as a messenger boy. Check Clerk and finally Teletype Operator.  Though I only worked with the corporation for three years.  I have very fond memories as they were the first to offer me full-time employment after I graduated from high school in 1964.  I was so glad that I found this contact information because I saw names of several folks who I worked with and were so helpful and supportive to me when I was still "wet behind the ears".  Last October I retired as a Chaplain with the NYS Dept. of Correctional Services after 23 years and am now living in Raliegh, North Carolina with my newly wedded wife Ruth.  I have three children (including twin daughters) ages 38, and 34. I am enjoying retirement, but dying to get back to work somewhere in a University teaching or parish position.  If any one has any contact information for Irving Monroe, Charlie Johnson, Jim Harvey, Ronald Dudley, or Charlie Drake.  I would appreciate if you could share it with me.  These folks, among others, were my main source of support during my tenure at RCA.  I slao remember Richard Berger and (Stanley?) Grandazza. Greetings and peace to all of you.

Juan Carmona.

Phil,

I was able to find the RCA Life Insurance Benefits information by scrolling down the Retirees page.  May I suggest that the information I originally told you about on that page be deleted as it is obsolete and prominently display the posting:  Also, the address for RCA Pension Plan is PO Box 7281, Princeton, NJ 08543-7281.  Phone # 1-800-242-7419, OPT-4 FAX 609-734-9619 with a link so people can find it more easily?  By calling that number,  I was able to get the ball rolling on my mom's Life Insurance benefits.

Thank You,

Nadine Hoffman

Joe Calise,  joe.calise@bt.com

Al Citro passed away about 12 years ago. I had advised/informed all that knew Al in Piscataway and NY. I see a few names on the web site that I may reach out to just say hello.

I worked at 60 Broad Street from April 1976 thru December 1976. I was one of the lucky DPTs that was relocated to Piscataway; very early in the development of Piscataway site. I still worked under Pete Theodore and while at Piscataway I was promoted to Supervisor.

Back then Pete's responsibly consisted of ADI and CTS. We started to get in a number of private switches as well. ADI/CTS were the first message handling switches that RCA went to an outside contractor to program; it was a real blast and I learned so much. It was a wonderful time and the people in Piscataway were like family to me.

I got to spent time with Al's former colleagues while in Piscataway as well and they made me feel like I was part of the RCA family from the very beginning. Bob Foglia, Tommie Devane, and Joe Muscles, to name just a few took good care of me. Oh how I miss those days Philip. Everything was so much simplier.

 Kind Regards

Joe

From Anthony (Tony) Scandiffio

Well guess what?  I could not dodge any more bullets.  It is time for me to bend to the winds of change.  The old dinosaur is going out to pasture.  Early retirement is starting to look pretty good.  My claim to fame began in 1957 as a messenger in ES office and gravitated to 60 Broad St.  In 1958.  From there to the HATED CT shop as a "permanent". Moving on to the electronic shop and finally to The Switching area on 5th floor.  From there I made my way to Piscataway in 1975 and found a hole to hide in until July 24th 2009.  Now after 52 years total I am taking the package, and officially joining The "Ole Fart" club. It ain't so bad.

Respectfully,

Anthony M Scandiffio

Glad I found your web page. I came across Wade Nielsen's name with your members list. I worked for Wade in Los Angeles from 1978 to 1986. I still hold some great memories from then. As I am approaching 60, I am having trouble finding the right place at GE to begin the process to receive my pension. Along with some help there, I'd love to find out how to reach Wade. Hello everyone. I came across this site by accident while doing an internet search for something totally different. I never knew that it existed. What a great site. Looking at the pictures of those that I grew up knowing because of all the years my father worked at RCA and LOCAL 10, and those people that I myself eventually worked with for my 5 years (1980 - 1985) at RCA, brought back a lot of great memories. I was also saddened to see that many really good people have passed away. I know that if my dad was still alive he would have enjoyed looking at the pictures and the posts on this site. RCA really was a fun place to work.

Ali Rashid, if you read this, please drop me an e-mail. Joe Cardinale

While I did not have the pleasure of working for RCA I learned a lot from my father, and the few times I was able to spend a day with him at work. My father loved RCA and his job. He always thought well and enjoyed those he worked with.

I am hoping I can make contact with people who may have known my father and would like to talk to†me, perhaps share their own memories and thoughts about him. My father retired from RCAGC around 1980 and passed on in 1983.

I am also trying to locate a cousin of mine, Edward Edelson. I used to recall my father talking about him and how he also worked for RCA Communications then RCAGC. After my father passed on we lost contact with my father's side of the family and if Edward gets this I would like him to contact me so perhaps I can†get back in touch withthe family.

If anyone would like to contact me I can be reached by email at ka2sph@gmail.com†or ka2sph@comcast.net .

I also want to thank Phil Rauso for this wonderful website and for posting this message for me. It is good to hear a teletype machine again as you do when you get onto Phil's website's opening page.

So there you go my friend. I hope this is satisfactory. I hope too that you can get the mouse working right.

Take care, be well, stay warm, my best to your wife and family

Here's Lee Wilson (wilintecms@cablelynx.com). JHust got a note that my membership has been canceled so I thought I'd better check in and see if I can get it fixed. NEVER REALIZED IT UNTIL NOW, BUT IT SEEMS I HAVE THE HONOR OF BEING THE FIRST CONTRIBUTOR TO THIS GUESTBOOK. The site has come a long way since then and I visit it pretty often to see who is where and other news. It brings back a plethora of the fondest memories of many old friends and associates. You couldn't help in my day but to think of Golbcom as an extension of your family. There was a closeness that made it a wonderful experience. To the old gang I wish you well and hope that this finds you in good health and happiness. Lee Wilson

Sunday August 05, 2007

From Walt Pioli I retired from RCA after 37 years and have always been grateful for the opportunities given to me at RCA, starting as a messenger (Nr 174) at HF branch office. After a military interruption of two years which included 18 months overseas, I held a variety of jobs which included Automatic Operator, Sales person and so on. Subsequently, RCA (Bob Angliss) gave me a job that allowed me to travel around the world for ten years, and boy did I have fun. My fondest thoughts, however, are those of the friendships I have made with the RCA folks that have offered me their guidance, friendship and affection during my 37 years. I finally retired, ten years ago, after ten years with GTE (now Verizon) and now live in the San Diego area of California and I am still having fun. My good wishes and best of health to all our RCA colleagues. Walt <waltpioli@cox.net>

I just had the chance to browse the guest book and found that I have honor of submitting the first entry! It has been a very long time and I read with sorrow at the passing of so many of the dear friends from my days at RCA. I,like so many others, feel like we were a "family" and not just co-workers. I have kept in contact with a few. Mainly Don Stackhouse and Stew but I have the fondest of memories of so many that it is too long of a list to try and include you all here. I'll just say best wishes to all and hope our paths cross in the future. We retired to Hot Springs, Arkansas in 2005 and recently finished building our new home on Lake Hamilton. It's a great place for retirement, so come on down! The door is always open and the boat is progammed to some great fishing spots! Good health and many happy years to all old friends. Great job Phil and son. This site is a very meaningful place for a lot of great people and we owe you so much for making it possible. Thanks to you and ED for the prompt response to my ID abd Password request. Lee Wilson wilintecms@cablelynx.com

That is where I was laid off in the 70's when downsizing was just getting to be THE thing. I have run ahead of the tsunami of downsizing ever since...the old accounting expression...last in first out...a lot of the major corporations I have worked for no longer are in existance...BUT I am!!! Joe Unger. It is with deep Regret that I report the passing of Mr Joe Unger. Joe whose ham call was K2BY became a silent key in april this year. His obituary was posted in the August edition of QST Magazine. Joe's last Position at RCA was Manager of the video operations for RCA Americom, and was instrumental in putting services like HBO,Cinemax,MTV and CNN on Satellite. He held several patents for inventions in the Radio/Telecommunications field. He will be remembered as a true pioneer in the field. Joe was a true eccentric and there are a lot of stories of his frugality. Rest in Peace Joe.

Looking at the pictures and then reading the guestbook made me think of some great times I had. Thanks for all the work in keeping this site up. Looking forward to hearing from long lost acquaintances.

On behalf of my family I would like to thank all of you who attended my father Richie Persichetti's wake. Your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated. Thank you for all the wonderful stories you had about our Dad.

Great Kills resident Richard Persichetti, 58, a retired phone company manager who was cherished by his family, died yesterday in Staten Island University Hospital, Prince's Bay, after a long illness. Born in Brooklyn, the avid New York Jets, Rangers and Mets fan graduated from William E. Grady High School in 1965. He and the former Grace Crocco were married in 1968, after they met in a candy shop in Brooklyn. The couple settled in Great Kills in 1979. For 38 years, Mr. Persichetti worked as a manager for WorldCom Inc. in Manhattan. He retired in 2004. Taking trips to Atlantic City, fishing and cooking a variety of holiday dishes for his family were activities he enjoyed. Mr. Persichetti was a parishioner of St. Clare's R.C. Church, Great Kills. His children remembered him as not only a father but a friend. They said he brightened the nights and days of his family -- including his 10 nieces and nephews -- with many jokes, He was a wonderful grandfather to my two sons, Nicholas and Matthew, said his daughter-in-law, Laura Persichetti. For the 14 years I knew him, all that he did for me made him my second father, said his son-in-law, Vincent Anzalone. When I had an important decision to make, I knew I could always count on him for advice, said another son-in-law, John Talavera. In addition to his two grandchildren, and his wife of 38 years, Grace, surviving Mr. Persichetti are his two daughters, Debora Persichetti and Tracey Anzalone; his son, Richard B.; his mother, Netta Persichetti, and his two sisters, Gloria Maurinac and Rita Maone. The funeral will be Saturday from the John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Eltingville, with a mass at 9:45 a.m. in St. Clare's Church. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Pleasant Plains.

Unfortunately, it is on a sad occasion that I became aware of this web-site and the possibility of both adding to it my name as a former employee of RCA Glocom's international division (1972-1981), and to reach many of my old friends through this vehicle: yesterday, May 20, 2006, our highly esteemed friend and colleague Charles Jennings, passed away. We will keep happy memories of Jennings-san: may he rest in peace.

I would like to thank Ron, Marty & Bill for their efforts in putting together another successful Florida Retirees Luncheon in Delray Beach FL. It was great seeing Joe Coppola and Val Comforto, with whom I worked back in the forties and fifties and with whom I haven't had the pleasure of conversing in over 30 years. They still looked as young as they did, back in the good old days. Best wishes to all my fellow RCA Retirees. florida

I would like very much, to thank all of you who took the time out of your personal schedule to send a mass card or condolence card to my family. I cannot begin to tell you how my family and I are hurting with the loss of my daughter Kim Marie. Kim Marie and her two children had been living with my wife and I for the last two years, thankfully they are still with us and hopefully will be raised by me, my wife and our three other children. I am sorry it took so long to thank everyone, but I have finally had the courage to sit and type a thank you message. I truly appreciated the thoughtfullness and compassion you have shown, and I pray that no one has to endure what my family has had to live through. Thank you all very much and my sincerest thanks. Coincidently, my great-uncle Peter Lambert was an employee after WWII when he got out of the Army Signal Corp. It was great to see some familiar faces from simpler times.

Talk about a trip down Memory Lane! I just found this site by accident. Seeing all the names and faces sent chills down my spine. I started at 60 Broad st in 1974 and left Piscataway in 1988. Did some time in the storeroom under Charlie Mcbride, worked in the shop under Willy Lang and Joe Neger Sr. (jr. where are you?). Also did some time with Vito Lupino and his crew in the OMT dept. Worked in the Edison shop under Joe Coppola. An finally Piscataway with John Sharpe and crew. I started right out of High School, so I grew up with all these people. Would love to make contact with some of the old crew Neger jr., Panza, Banfitch, Umbria I guess you all know who you are.....

I haven't looked at the memorial page in quite some time and today jokingly said to my wife that perhaps we should look and make sure I'm not on it. While it may have started out fun it quickly brought tears to my eyes which later became happy thoughts of the many years most of our departed worked with me and the many things we enjoyed and accomplished together. I still have many contacts in the communications industry today and can truly say that it was the RCA people who inspired and taught the work ethic to all of the rest of the companies then and now. I am personally proud to have been a member of our RCA organization and hope all of members now resting in heaven are looking back and boasting of their accomplishments not only at RCA but in life as well. Thank you Phils for giving many of this the ability to relive history and good times.

Hi again, Just found your member listing and the info on Don Stackhouse.

Sunday January 23, 2005
10:20 PM -0500

Greetings from the Cape Cod blizzard country. The below questbook entry was placed there as a result of my being led to your website and the photo gallery - one photo of which is a radio operator. That operator is Francis Doane, a long time radio operator at the RCA Globcom marine station WCC in Chatham. Francis was a great uncle of mine and steered me into amateur radio and eventually to the commercial side of radio. I went to work at Chatham in early part of 1977, I think February, as a station technician and when the manager passed away I was promoted to the station manager, replacing Mr. Edgar Hammons. I served there under the guidance of Don Stackhouse until RCA was sold to GE and the maritime communications stations WCC and KPH were then sold to MCI International. As the last manager of the station before it was closed, I have in my possession many documents that date back to the early 20's and photos of the station. The organization CMMC, mentioned below by Mrs. Coleman, is looking for as much information they can gather about the marine operations under RCAGC and the Radio Marine division. Any and all information would be greatly appreciated. This information could also include contacts who may be able to contribute to the information gathering. By the way, does anyone have information about Don Stackhouse.

Best to you all, Bill Farris,

former manager of ChthamRadio/WCC.

Greetings, Bill Farris the last manager of Chatham Radio Wireless Cape Cod (WCC) sent me your website. http://207.56.96.173/rca/gallery/gallery02/gallery02.htm Your website is very impressive and we are happy to know how to reach folks from the RCA Global Communications community. I am the president of a not for profit organization formed in 2002 to save the Marconi /RCA station in Chatham which is now owned by the Town of Chatham. We are hoping to obtain a long time lease of the operations building soon. CMMC (see below) believes that Marconi’s campus in Chatham is the only station built by Marconi left in the world where all of its original building are unchanged and its antenna field still sound and powerful. We find that few people know about Chatham’s powerful Ship to Shore Radio station built by Marconi and developed by RCA. We are almost finished with a ten minute documentary film which will be available for groups to view so that former RCA Global Communications people can join in our effort to save the station as a center for communication history and science. Roz Coleman CHATHAM MARCONI MARITIME CENTER. INC. (CMMC) MISSION STATEMENT The mission of The Chatham Marconi Maritime Center is to enrich the lives of children and adults in Chatham and surrounding communities through the preservation and appropriate use of the historic Marconi site in Chatham. The goals are to beautify and improve access to the property, and to establish programs for all ages that will create job and training opportunities and to emphasize historic traditions, education and recreation, especially Chatham’s maritime history and its relationship to the 21st century The Historic Chatham Marconi Wireless Radio Station built by Marconi in 1914 is being supported by a growing number of individuals and groups. The Goal of the Chatham Marconi Maritime Center Inc. is to create a Communication Education Center that looks both to the future and to the past at Marconi’s amazing wireless breakthrough and RCA’s further development of wireless ship to shore radio. The Chatham Marconi Maritime Center, Inc. will provide students hands on information using both museum artifacts related to the history of wireless communication and state of the art technology. The CMMC Speakers Bureau will soon be booking our new ten minute documentary film entitled Chatham Radio: WCC, The Untold Story for organizational programs. In addition, CMMC is reaching out to the boating, sailing, and rowing community though its program partner, Pleasant Bay Community Boating and Cape Challenge, A Sea Scout program for boat building, rowing, and sailing. http://www.pbcb.cc <http://www.pbcb.cc/> For futher information, contact,

I heard about this site from Bob Bystricky, who I used to work with in TOCC-2.

I joined RCA in early 1968, soon after I got out of the Navy. I worked as a CT for a few months, then as an OT in TOCC-2 until 1972, then as a DPT for a year. In 1973 I was promoted to Engineer in CLC (Commercial Leased Channels). I quit in 1981, when Vlad the Impaler took over Globcom.

For the past 20 years I lived in Japan, working first for NEC, and then for Nippon Ericsson. I'm retired now, and living in Bangkok, Thailand.

It's sure a blast from the past, seeing some of the names here! Let me hear from you!

the old Broad Street gang. Ernie Amata, Larry Cecio, Fred Danziger, Joe Beyda, Matt LaDolcetta,

Gus Manolescu, Pat Keilty, Ed Matthews and Tom Bradler. It was a great reminiscing about Broad St.

We all looked ok, a bit older, a bit greyer and a bit balder.

Hello, I just saw the name of someone who was a very close friend of mine while both of us worked at RCAC many years ago. Unfortunately, it seems that Beverly Schulman has passed away. I knew her by her maiden name of Bernstein. My name is Irene Rivera Catarella and I was a Radio Operator from 1943 to 1951 approximately. By the way, if there is still a TRopical Radio Station in Panama I have a picture given to me by one of the old-timers (I was very young then and everyone was an old-timer) this picture was taken in 1936 and shows a bungalow type building set in the midst of some lovely palm trees. Let me know if anyone would be interested in seeing it. My e-mail is: ned_is_free@hotmail.com it's been interesting browsing thru rcaglobal. thanks...

IT Is with deep regret, That the Techs and Managment of Vernon Valley Earth Station,Report the Passing Away of Mr Nick Klonaris. "Uncle Nick" was A valued member of our Earth Station and even in Retirement kept in touch. He will be Greatly Missed. His BIO is attached.

" It What a pleasure to review your site!! I began at Riverhead in 1962, Mr Marshal Etter was Eng. in Charge at that time.Transferred to Rocky Point as a transmitter Tech. ten years or so later. Finally transferred to the NY CTO and after that Transferred to Rayburn Texas to open up the Earth Station there along with Paul Patrick, Ray Berkel and others who were hired locally. When that closed, I transferred to Verron Valley Earth Station to finish up 37 years of service. Having moved from HF to Satellite, the 37 years was an education in itself.....and I would be proud to be able to do it again. What a wonderful experience and great people to have met along the way. Some of us just have not kept up with the technology as I fail to find MANY of my co-workers not in the pages of your site. Please contact me if any of you care to, would be happy to meet you. Incidently if any of you are interested, I have carried/saved and entire HF receiver from Riverhead in three sections, RF, Mixer, IF (What an item, it must weigh 200 pounds in all)! rEGARDS TO ALL....Nick " Nicolas Anthony Klonaris Conroe, Tx USA - Thursday, August 23, 2001 at 14:00:56 (EDT)

I worked for RCA Communications Inc. then RCA Global from 1957 through to December 1967. I started as a messenger boy and when I resigned I was a Commercial Representative. What I learned at RCA served me well for the rest of my career. Most vivid in my memory was that I was paid to go to the famous in house typing school so that I could advance to a teletype operator. I actually practised on company time. While working in operations (3-11 & 4-midnight) I attended St. Francis College; I worked many weekends and holidays; thanks to my good pay and the RCA Credit union I was able to pay for my tuition and start raising a family. Three individuals helped me a great deal while at RCA. First was John Milione who co-signed for me at the credit union; he was my surrogate father. The other was John McKenna who helped me gain my first position in management and contined to be my friend until he died. Last but not least was Sal DeMarco; he always gave me good advice; he was truly a good friend. When Sal moved to Florida we became even closer; he became a bailiff in the Courthouse and helped me with my legal career. I credit a great deal of my success to these three men, who were most representative of the good men and women who worked with me at RCA. Anthony Titone

THANKS TO PHIL AND PHIL JR FOR A GREAT SITE. I STARTED AT RCA 60 BROAD ST IN 1967 AS A TELETYPE OPERATOR AND WAS PROMOTED TO SUPERVISOR OF PORTERS BY MY OLD BOSS HOWARD SMITH IN 1981. I WAS LAID OFF IN 1987 AS A TRAFFIC SPVR WORKING UNDER PAUL THOMPSON AND ED KISTULENIC. HAD A GREAT TIME AT RCA AND MADE MANY GOOD FRIENDS. I WILL STAY IN TOUCH BECAUSE AS SUPERVISOR OF PORTERS I COLLECTED A LOT OF OLD STUFF.

I would just like to say to everyone. The RCA Communications Association puts a lot of time and effort to keep the RCA Family together. I would like everyone to know that you DO NOT have to be of retirement age to belong. As long as you once worked for RCA Global you can be a member. The Dues are a Mere $10.00 annually. All information is on the opening page of the RCA Global Web-Site. Just contact Ed Davis. Even if you live out of State you are more then welcome to be a member. We will be adding new photos and Relay magazines from the year 1940 thru 1982 so stay tuned. Meanwhile pick up and phone or write Ed Davis. Have a GREAT HOLIDAY one and all.

In response to Joe Copolla's comments regarding the "poor" attendance at Retiree Association meetings, I am very guilty, I only attended twice several years ago. I can offer escuses, but that is insufficient, because many of the attendees make sacrifices. Maybe if we "poll" the website and ask everyone viewing, what do they feel could be implemented to improve attendance at Retiree Association meetings/luncheon/dinner, etc., the attendance would improve?

I had an opportunity to briefly see Phil Rauso during his Thanksgiving visit with his family here in NYC. Phil looks absolutely great, we shared many, many old memories and laughs. It is Phil's intention to return to NYC in the Summer/Fall of 2002 and he would like to see as many of his RCA friends as possible. During his visit with John Pontecorvo, it was mentioned as a possibility of a meeting in Las Vegas (John Pontecorvo has a real desire to go there and so do I!). Whether it is Las Vegas with Phil & John or NYC, Let's all do our best to personally spend some time with them if anyway possible! Health & Peace...

Hi Everyone! Joe Capolla asked why we did away with the chat-room. The reason being? Poor Attendance. It's an example of what will become of the Retiree's Assoc. If people don't start making their meetings.RCA Communications Association has worked very hard to keep RCA alive and well. We would like to see more new members and more attendance so come on folks give Ed Davis a call.

Phil, It was a pleasure talking on the phone with you today along with John Milione. It brought back the good old times we had at RCA Global. Although I did not stay long at 60 Broad Street, I did witness all the stunts that were pulled off and they were a lot of fun. Now that it's 40 years later we can laugh at it all. Joseph Barocas

Hello RCA!! Just learned of this website and oh! what a joy!! Talking bout remembering the good times----can I get a witness? lol Already spreading the word. There are so many people and pictures that are missing, but the web thought was a good idea!!!! Thanks to all who help create, add, etc. to it-----Larry, knew you had to be in there!! Good work to all of you. Anybobdy, anytime want to give me a line, please feel free. Brought back a lot of fond memories----never a job so sweet or people who knew how to "get down!!" This website is surly a breath of fresh air. I would like to take this opportunity to say that my heart and prayers go out to all who have lost a love one because of September 11th of this year, whether it was a friend or family member. Also, to all of our "brothers and sisters" from RCA who have passed on (either mentioned or not mentioned), I wish to say we all miss you. Hey people, God is trying to tell us something....it's time to get smart, get serious, and get going!! "Be Good, If Not, Be Careful!"" LOL P.S. In case some of you are wondering who I am, I worked in KeyPunch----Dynomite!!!! Talk about good times, those were the good days and 60 Broad was the place!! Never had a job like that anymore--- we were together---miss you guys. I want to take this time to express my sympathy to all of those who lost anyone, whether family or friends on Sept. 11th. My daughter is now going to BMCC--too close for comfort!! God is talking-- it is time to "Get Smart, Get Serious, and Get Going." Also, want to say to Phil and Larry--this website was a good idea. Here's hoping this will stay for a long, long, time. Congratulations---both of you! And, Larry--knew you had to be in there somewhere! LOL "Take care everyone." Give me an e-mail shout anytime---would love to hear from you guys. In case any of you do not know who I am, I used to work in KeyPunch. Wow! We getting younger & younger! LOL

During these very challenging times for our nation, I commented to Stew, when e-mail communications was restored to my work location at "ground zero", despite flurries of activities, exhaustion, anxieties, rumors which had to be substantiated, long hours, etc., my spirits were uplifted by perusing the RCA GLOBAL site which mentally and emotionally re-energized me traveling back to "60 broad ST." I am so very thankful for the RCA GLOBAL website and the initial efforts created by Stew and taken to another level by Phil Rauso and Phil Rauso, Jr. As a small token of appreciation, I have decided to send Phil and his Son my check for $50.00. However I must also mention when I recently sent Phil a variety of pictures (He must wait for the expansion of the website in December) he also created a personal CD for me with an anthology of pictures I sent to him. This can now be an integral part of my legacy to my children who are all aware of how proud I am to be part of the RCA Family and will cherish those feelings eternally. With that thought in mind, I have decided to increase my check to Phil from $50.00 to $100.00. I feel it is a mere token of appreciation. I am only attempting to convey my gratitude for his creativity and on-going efforts. PEACE...

I was with the OMT department for eighteen years. Now work for the NYC Dept. of Finance. Friday, 9/14, I needed to go to Centre Street and then John Street. When working for RCA, I got to travel that area almost every day, and as bad and as different as it looks now, take heart that it will be the same again one day. Everything will even out in time and wounds will heal. Hi Everybody, As you may or may not know, I have been working with the Federal Police (26 Federal Plaza) for over 5 years. We are near ground zero of the former World Trade Center. This is my first trip home since the tragedy. My 27-1/2 years of military training really paid dividends for the ability to maintain my responsibilities under adverse conditions. The circumstances cannot be described, especially the many, many faces of heroism, emotional pain, etc., The eerie glow of the sky 24 hours daily, the saturation of asbestos, etc., Every branch of Law enforcement (including military) that you can imagine has now supplemented all the Law enforcement agencies housed in 26 Federal plaza. There is constant activity, the most tragic being the convoys of refrigerator trucks returning from the site. I am so physically and emoitonally exhausted I cannot sleep. My heart pains for all those fallen heros and their grieving loved ones. God Bless America...

What a pleasure to review your site!! Hi everyone, I worked for RCA, GE, MCI and finally MCI Worldcom for 32 years, perhaps some of you remember my father Phil Schembre. I just found out about this website, and I am looking for anyone that has been out on LTD and was just recently terminated by Worldcom. I was out on LTD for the past 2 1/2 years and I just received a letter terminating my employment effective July 31, 2001. It is my understanding that this form letter was sent out to everyone that was out on LTD, so I thought perhaps someone out there may have received the same letter. Any assistance you can provide will be greatly appreciated. Thank You. Josephine Schembre

A special THANKS to STEW MILLER. It was Stew Miller who started posting some photo's on his personal site that we came up with the idea for the RCA Globcom Web-Site. Stew has been a great right hand man in up-dating our employee list and sending bulletins to keep everyone posted. Again. THANK YOU.

My Son Phil Jr. and I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for visiting RCA Globcom Web-Site. The response has been over whelming needless to say. It makes it all worth while. It seems different looking at the photo's on the Web-Site. As Joe Barocas put it. Every time I come to this site its like being in a time capsule. Visit as often as you like and if you have not signed the Guest book please do. Everyone loves reading the nice comments.

Just found the site and looking through the guest book, saw many old friends and colleagues that have signed so far. Will be looking at the pictures and remebering the good old days. I started with RCAGC back in december, 1974, right out of high school as a Combination Technican at the Washington, DC location. Jim Miller, and Al Crouch were my Supervisors and Tom Algie my Manager. Jim is still hanging in there after all these years with a lot less hair (I think largely due to me in my early years) and doing well. Great to see all of you on here! Best regards, Norm..

We couldn't believe the things we used to do...We decided that someday we're going to have to publish a book. At any rate, Philly and his son are doing a fantastic job with this website. My hat is off to them both. It truly is good to see all of you leaving your comments. It truly was a "family" working with RCAGC. My best regards to everyone... Walt Rogers...Class of 61-68 as well as 81-88.

I joined RCA when i was discharged from the Marines in 1957. Spent time in Operations, Telephone Room and MIS. Remained with the company when it was sold to GE, MCI and then Worldcom and was given my 'discharge' in Dec. 1998 after 41 plus years. Attend many of the RCA Retirees functions and many of the names are familiar to me. My best to everyone and to Phil and Phil Jr. "keep it up".

Hello to all. Both my father (Frank Alvarez) and I are former RCAGC employee's. My dad transfer out the New York Office at 60 Broad St. to the San Francisco office (135 Market St.)in 1957. He had over 30 years of service until his demise in 1976. I started working for RCAGC from the San Francisco office at Market St. in 1967 and I'm presently working at the old RCAGC Lodi Ca. office. I'm glad to have been a part of the RCAGC family and apparently it's continuation. Great Job. (I will be submitting some old San Francisco RCAGC photo's soon.)

A special hello to many faces and names that have brought a smle to this aging face of mine. My circa dates back to 1957 as a messenger, advancing to operator 1958 and onto "COMBINATION TECHNICIAN" (the dreaded CT) in 1960. Banished to New Jersey when "KCC" opened under Bob Fitzmaurice in 1975. Alas I have found HOME here since. Four of us original "Fitz's Dirty Dozen" are still here. Its been a "hellofaride" so far.
